F. A. Q.s
Curious minds, welcome! We’ve gathered the most common questions (and a few you didn’t know you had) to make starting therapy feel a little less mysterious and a lot more doable.
- 01
We understand that starting therapy for the first time can be nerve-wrecking but knowing what to expect can make it easier.
Your first session or "intake session" will be different from future visits. The intake session is a period for you and your therapist to get to know each other, as well as for your therapist to assess your needs, symptoms, and gather information about your history in order to tailor goals for therapy. In future sessions, what you will discuss is up to you and your therapist.

We offer a free 15-minute consultation for prospective clients. The initial consultation serves as a way for clients to meet their therapists and see if there is a potential for a therapeutic relationship. Clients have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss their needs, and get a feel for the therapist's approach before committing to therapy, allowing them to make an informed decision about their mental health and well-being.
- 03
Our sessions are available Monday thru Thursday from 3PM to 7PM, and we also offer weekend appointments by request. Please contact us directly to book a session that best fits your schedule, as availability can vary.
- 04
Unfortunately no. According to Texas Board regulations, clients must reside or physically be in Texas to receive services. Our therapist is licensed to provide mental health services exclusively to individuals located within the state of Texas.
- 05
Unfortunately, we do not offer crisis response services. If you are in crisis, please go to the nearest hospital, or call 911 (emergency line) or 988 (crisis line).
- 06
Most individual sessions are 60 minutes, with 50 minutes spent in session and the final 10 reserved for documentation and administrative tasks. Intake sessions are 90 minutes to allow for a thorough assessment and deeper understanding of your goals.
- 07
We offer both in-person and virtual sessions to ensure therapy is accessible and flexible for your needs. Virtual sessions provide a private, secure space to connect from anywhere — with the same level of care, presence, and confidentiality as in-person appointments.
- 08
60-minute individual session: $125
90-minute intake session: $150
Sliding-scale options are available. Please reach out to discuss your needs — we’re committed to making care accessible.
- 09
Yes, we accept insurance through third-party credentialing platforms. If you're not using insurance, we also offer a sliding scale to help make therapy financially manageable. Your healing matters — and we’ll work with you to find a path forward.
- 10
We understand that life happens. You’ll have a 15-minute grace period to arrive before the session is considered a no-show. If you arrive within that window, your session will continue as scheduled.
- 11
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your session — or missed appointments — will incur a $100 fee. We honor your time and commitment to therapy, and we ask that you honor ours in return.

Therapy might be right for you if you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply curious about your own growth. You don’t need a crisis to seek support — therapy is a space to explore your thoughts, heal past wounds, and build a more fulfilling life. If you’ve ever wished for a safe, nonjudgmental place to be heard, understood, and guided, therapy can offer exactly that.
Still unsure? A consultation session can help you explore your needs and see if it feels like a good fit. You're not committing to a long journey — you're just taking the first step.
